This is something that I sketched out last night for what I thought was going to be a photo etching workshop today...it actually turned out to be an Aquatint workshop. But anyway, I still used the image for this workshop. The whole Aquatint process is quite enjoyable but when it comes to applying the 'straw hat' varnish, which is actually what was used to varnish straw hats, you have to think in negative. So basically, you start off by painting the black varnish onto the areas that are going to be white. It's simple but it baffled me at first! Anyway, I've still got to finish the etching process so I don't have prints to show yet.

Thanks all =)
God bless.
