GRIM

Over at the Forgotten Corner Collective we're piecing together an eight-panel comic where a different artist creates each panel. I created the illustration above using 'grim' as the topic. The baton has now been passed to Mr Dave Hooper...

Plymouth University contacted me and asked me if I would create the illustration for their 2012/13 Alumni Magazine. I gladly accepted the challenge. I was pretty pumped to create this illustration but again I threw my time management out of the window so the final illustration isn't quite as in depth and well crafted as I would have liked. Hopefully it won't look too bad on the magazine itself. Anyhew, I'm grateful to have had this opportunity. Here's my initial draft design which we scraped because it stuck too close to the conventional blue/purple colour scheme.

Thanks everyone for stopping by, really appreciate it!

God bless you guys.

Hold the line!

Now that we've handed in all of our Uni work for assessment, I have some time to do my own artwork, schweet! I want to get a few pieces done for the degree show on June 15th so I've decided to embark on a mini quest to create some Mass Effect fan art focusing on the Suicide Mission from ME2. I settled with this composition and I'm playing with a few of the elements. It's not as dynamic as I'd like but it's the best I can come up with at the moment. Lets take it to the Collectors! Assuming direct control of this art-form!

"Visit to the land of the rising sun"

My Aunt Susan e-mailed me today with a link to my cousin's travel blog. Khan and his friend Ed are currently engaged in an exciting adventure in Japan. His blog about all aspects of their travels is really exciting (and well written!) and he gives some great insight into Japanese culture and society.

If you're interested in Japan, I urge you to check it out:

Have a great day!
Bless You.

Tales from 1,001 Nights - Through The Mountains

Hey there! Another piece in the bag! The Ifrit and the Fisherman are treking through the mountains to reach the secret pool with the funky fish. The Ifrit is quite a few paces ahead of the Fisherman; so he's waiting for the little guy to catch up.

I really enjoyed creating this one. It changed loooads throughout the drawing process and I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by :)

God bless.

Tales from 1,001 Nights - WIP

This is the current illustration that I'm working on for my Tales from 1,001 Nights series. I'm enjoying the series so far, however they still could be a little more informed...yeah. I'm a little stuck on how to add more detail to this illustration. I was thinking about possibly putting a bit of texture in the background. I'm not sure, I've hit 'the wall'. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for dropping by :)

God bless.

Ink

A week before my Practical Dissertation...I still hadn't started my final drawings! Although I regret leaving it until last minute to produce the final artwork, I liked a few pages that I managed to throw out. Here's one of them and it's all about a clumsy bug.

Thanks everyone :)
God bless.

Tales from 1,001 Nights (WIPs)

It's probably about time that I actually posted some art! So here it is. These are all works in progress but they're not far off being finished. They're illustrations for the story of The Fisherman and The Ifrit from Tales from 1,001 Nights. This is a new way of working digitally for me but I'm really enjoying taking the cutout approach. I haven't done such a good job at giving these and Arabian Nights feel however.

Please feel free to leave any crits and don't be afraid to destroy me!

Thanks :)

God bless.

More cutting & sticking

Here's the Engineer crew member for my Sci-fi board game. Similar to the Scientist, I'm not entirely sure whether he's fixing something important or just trying to steal a Pepsi from the ship's vending machine.

Cut Cut, Snip Snip

After Um-ing and Aaa-ing for half a term, I've finally arrived at a way of working that is effective and enjoyable. Really!? Yes. Simply cutting out shapes with a scalpel and then sticking them together with double-sided tape is quite relaxing! This image is for the Scientist character within a Sci-fi board game that I'm making. He's supposed to look all clever but he could really be examining his reflection in the vial whilst reading the latest issue of Model Railroader.
